What is AfroFuture 2025?
AfroFuture, previously known as Afrochella, is far more than a music festival. It’s a cultural movement. First launched in 2019 in Accra, Ghana, the festival has grown into a global platform celebrating African creativity in its purest form: music, art, fashion, food, and technology.
For 2025, AfroFuture promises an immersive, multi-sensory experience from striking art installations and live fashion showcases to wellness pop-ups and unforgettable music performances. It’s a celebration of Africa’s past, present, and future, bringing the continent and its diaspora together under one vibrant creative spotlight.
AfroFuture 2025 Dates
AfroFuture 2025 comes with two powerful editions:
- AfroFuture Detroit (U.S.): taking place 16–17 August 2025, marking the festival’s global expansion and connection with the African diaspora.
- AfroFuture Ghana (formerly Afrochella): running from 27 December 2025 to 2 January 2026, with the main festival days expected on 28–29 December 2025. Alongside the headline performances, expect cultural activations, panels, fashion showcases, and culinary experiences throughout the festive season leading into the New Year.
